Zoners, where is the love? Where is it! I can't find it, is there such a place?

I don't know if any of you saw this on the news or not but today at Northwood High school in maryland a bomb was found in the front of the school. Now, why would someone want to bomb a school? This school happens to be the high school I go to, so I feel I was affected a lot..... So I ask you again, where is the love?

come on bombs are planted in 1,000 's of location every day, as we speak there will be another bombing somewhere possibly the work of terrorist extremists...I can partly understand why they do this, but all the same having lived through daily reports of terrorist activity in England and Northern Ireland, we brits are more able to cope with this ...american's are not used to terrorisim if in fact this is such a thing..or just some hedibanger trying to get attention...the effect is the same, in post terrorist attack america, panic and will Al Qiada try again...

as it turns out it wasn't a bomb. It was made to look like one. However; it did have some weird gas and shit. This is from the washington post.

Md. Students Dismissed After Package Discovered
Authorities Conducting Investigation of Incident

By Katherine Shaver
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, May 12, 2005; 1:15 PM

A small package made to look like an explosive device and left in a staff parking lot 50 yards from the entrance of Northwood High School in Silver Spring this morning caused 170 students to spend the morning at a nearby elementary school, Montgomery County authorities said.

No one was injured and the device did not turn out to be an explosive, investigators said. Bomb-sniffing dogs searched the school but found nothing else, and no threats were received, they added.

However, authorities said investigators had determined that liquid in the package was flammable and that they are still investigating whether the incident was a hoax or a threat.

"It was threatening or was made to look like an explosive device," said Pete Piringer, spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. "It was incendiary so the potential for injury was still there. We don't know the motivation but we're taking it seriously."

Authorities said a building service worker found the device -- a can, jar and other materials -- on a grassy median about 6:25 a.m. before students and most of the staff arrived. About 170 students were walked over to nearby Forest Knolls Elementary School after they arrived about 7:10 a.m. Those students were dismissed about 10 a.m. because officials didn't know how long investigators would take at the school, said Brian Edwards, Montgomery County schools spokesman. The school's other 150 students are in Philadelphia on a field trip, he added.

The Northwood High School campus in recent years has housed students from other high schools that are being renovated but it reopened this year as a high school with 320 students, all ninth graders, Edwards said.

School will open on schedule tomorrow, he said.

The incident remains under investigation by Montgomery County fire investigators, school officials and police. Anyone with information can call 240-777-2263.

interesting..... oh. and goblin, shut the fuck up. thanks, Heather

Dear fello zoners, It can't be fully understood what is going threw the mind of some 1 who feels the need or gets the sick injoyment of taking the lives of others. Something that has to be asked is what was the reason for putting such a package there? Could it of been something who thaught this kind of sick joke would have been funny? Or could of it been some 1 who is in desprit need of atenchin? Or maybe some 1 who forgot to studdy for a test and thaught he or she could by him self or her self some extra time. Well I doubt it was the last 1. What goes threw the mind of some 1 who feels the need to take things to a hole nother extreem?

When I was at school one of the other students did that, he called up during study time and said there was a bomb in one of the classrooms. The teacher on duty at the time panicked and evacuated the building and the police were called and .. why did he do it? for a litre of fanta orange. After the event everyone just viewed him as being pathetic.

I have to say you're not as affected as you would have been if the bomb had been real and exploded right next to you. There's a lot of hate in the world and there's a lot of love. Both take many forms. Just observe the world around you, and you'll learn that for yourself. The problem is that hate overshaddows love usually, but wondering where the love is is a bit narrow-minded since the only reason you don't know is that you've ignored the love and devoted all your attention to the hate.

Heather, my reply to that is that unfortunately, there is not much love in this world anymore. That's why I try to give my love to others, but if everyone would do that ... anyway, we just can hlpe that love won't decrease even more.
Hugs
Ines.

It does lead you to wonder where the love is. Although it appears to be lacking, it's still out there. I was in London England on the day of the September 11th attacks. After we got over all of the television coverage and decided to venture out again, a real neat thing happened. While at the pubs we visited, people around us would hear us talk and would obviously know we were americans. In the one evening we were out on the town, no less than a dozen total strangers would approach us, place their hands on our backs much like an encouraging family member would do, and tell us how sorry they were for all that happened to us so I know there's still a fair amount of love at least in London.

Yes, there is still love, though it's not much anymore. But you still can feel it.

If you feel the amount of love is lacking in the world, you might want to consider doing things that will increase the love you feel is lacking. What you do and how you go about it is up to you of course. Do not wait for the other guy to do it first or do it for you. Don't wait for your government to do it or for every last person in your given country to adopt your spiritual or political beliefs. Get your hands dirty and get out in the world and do a little something. No, you won't fix everybody on the whole Earth and it's not going to happen overnight. There is lots of love as well as hate in the world. Always has been and probably will continue to be unless or until the Human Nature software gets a very major upgrade. So for now, do not bemoan the state of the wworld, but do what you feel you can to make things better. And for your own sanity's sake, try to avoid your news media or at least don't take it seriously. Bad news sells, so that's what they run, and that will definitely give you a distorted view of how things are. No, everything isn't lollipops and rainbows, but people are always trying different things in the name of improving the world. Why not try to be one of them.

friends, there are two possibilities, think both of them. one, really a terrorist (I abuse) attempt to bomb that school, or some provokers attempt to provoke people against some other people. Reasonable or unreasonable, we need to think positive. otherwise, love can't be on the earth, we should not act not to trust people for their nationalities, or their status, for instance, recently someone called me on skype, and just wanted to meet me, but since I said I'm turkish, she said "oh my god" and hung up the phone, and I laughed, and said myself "I said turkish, not terorist" so, please friends, let's love each other, and try to form a clean and peaceful world
